Over the past year, we unlocked a fundamental parenting truth: staying indoors with small kids for an entire weekend is a special form of psychological torture. As naturally lazy human beings, our default setting is “couch”, but our toddlers forced our hand. We started hunting for easy, stroller-friendly trails featuring water – because if there is water, our kids will happily mess with it until their fingers prune. Pro Tip: Leave the house unnaturally early. If you share our deep hatred of massive crowds, aim to hit the road between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Thanks to our children’s internal 5:30 AM alarm clocks, by this time, we are already fueled by espresso(and pancakes) and ready to roll anyway.
